LH RESISTOR
Single-Cycle FM Synthesizer
A single-cycle FM synthesizer built for harmonic shaping and evolving motion.
LH RESISTOR begins with a single-cycle waveform and an internal FM structure designed for direct harmonic shaping.
The resulting sound is distributed across parallel LOW, BAND and HIGH spectral layers, then animated through cyclic modulation and completed by a reorderable serial effects rack.
Source & Spectrum
A selectable single-cycle waveform forms the source of the instrument. Mod Ratio, Ratio Fine and FM Index provide direct control over harmonic structure, while Unison, Detune and phase controls extend the source beyond a single focused voice.
After the FM source, the signal is divided into parallel LOW, BAND and HIGH state-variable filter outputs. The three layers remain available simultaneously and can be shaped with independent level and envelope behaviour.
Motion & Effects
A main LFO can be driven by a second Rate Mod LFO, allowing the speed of cyclic movement itself to change over time. Pitch, FM relationships and spectral-layer levels can be animated as independent destinations.
The synthesis engine feeds a reorderable serial effects rack. Effect instances can be added, bypassed, removed and rearranged as part of the sound-design process, with the complete chain stored as part of the sound state.
Libraries & Control
Factory and User preset libraries provide a practical structure for sound development. Additional compatible single-cycle WAV folders can be registered as waveform libraries and used alongside the built-in content.
Assignable MIDI mappings allow external controllers to reach synthesis and performance parameters directly without changing the underlying sound-preset format.
