Gemini was written in 2017 for piano. The composition begins from the idea of duality, but not as a fixed opposition between two clearly separated states. Instead, the music is shaped by instability, contrast and continual changes of direction.
Musical ideas appear, interrupt one another, return in altered form and resist settling into a single trajectory. The character of the piece comes from this movement between different tendencies — between continuity and interruption, certainty and hesitation, attraction and withdrawal.
Rather than attempting to depict Gemini literally, the title functions as a psychological and structural point of departure. The composition explores a state in which identity and direction remain mobile, producing a sense of lightness, unpredictability and unresolved motion.
