iPad · Modular Music Creation System
LH NULL
Design the sound, and the rules it plays by.
LH NULL is a modular music creation platform built for iPad. It brings sound synthesis, composition, logic, and real-time interaction together in one open environment. Build synths, instruments, effects, and musical structures, then develop them into complete pieces of music.
Sound Design
Build sound from source to output, and combine multiple synthesis approaches inside the same Patch.
- Sources: analog-style oscillators, wavetable, single-cycle waveforms, samples, and noise.
- Synthesis: subtractive, FM, phase modulation, and phase distortion.
- Waveform shaping: bend, fold, and reshape waveforms to control harmonics and spectrum.
- Filtering and dynamics: resonant filters, envelopes, and dynamic shaping.
- Effects: processing for dynamics, tone, space, stereo movement, and rhythmic transformation.
- Instrument building: multi-voice instruments, drums and percussion, and custom effect chains.

Set the Rules
Design how the music system behaves. Sequencing, math, logic, probability, and modulation can work together so a Patch can respond to conditions and evolve autonomously without writing code.
- Sequencing and rhythm: Note, Step, and CV sequencers, Rhythm Rings, independent clocks, and BPM sync.
- Math and logic: arithmetic, comparison, conditions, signal selection and routing, and counting.
- Probability and randomness: combine random events with deterministic rules.
- Modulation: multiple LFO types, Phasor, and looping envelopes for evolving timbre and structure.

Respond to the Real World
Bring outside signals into a Patch and use them to drive sound parameters, logic, sequences, and events.
- MIDI: notes, velocity, controllers, pitch bend, and modulation data.
- OSC: communication with external software, devices, and control systems.
- Gamepad: sticks, D-pad, triggers, and buttons.
- Accelerometer and gyroscope: motion and rotation from the iPad.
- Camera: brightness and RGB color changes converted into control signals.

Reusable Patch
Turn what you build into tools you can reuse. A Project can contain multiple Patches, pass audio, control, and event signals between them, and save modular structures as Reusable Patches with inputs and outputs you define.
Build a personal library of instruments, effects, and logic structures for future projects instead of starting from zero each time.
Complete Creative Environment
The workspace includes a visual canvas, module library and Inspector, undo/redo, Scope and signal monitoring, Project and asset management, import of your own sounds, Demo Projects, interface themes, and configurable audio buffer, control rate, and A4 tuning reference.
- Built-in module reference: each module's function, ports, and parameters.
- Quick Start: from adding a sound source and connecting Output to making your first sound.
- Monitoring: Scope and signal tools help inspect control and audio behavior.
- Project workflow: manage Patches, assets, imported sounds, and reusable structures in one environment.
